CAT aspirants have now a guideline and benchmark to follow. I remember we were quite unsure about how many to attempt! Some of us screwed up CAT just because they had no idea how many is adequate and ended up trying for the impossible. Now you have a definite plan - just answer 60% questions in each section with above 90% accuracy! I know it not that simple as it sounds! But, if you can do it - be assured to get calls from all the IIMs (if the exam goes by the usual pattern and usual level of difficulties)!

Read more http://catiimatales.googlepages.com/index

Now interviews of IIMA students - their CAT experiences

Happy Diwali and Catiimatales is back!

This time CATIIMATALES is back with a bang! I think that mba from a local institute and work experience in India wud do wonders....then why take up a heavy one from IIM and go abroad?"

My Response:
Well, hardly 15% students from IIMA go abroad, rest stay in India and work in Indian companies. In a way, apart from IIMs which MBA degree will give you a starting salary of 8 lakh plus per annum? Moreover, the training given in IIMA enables one to face better the situations in life. I have worked in Industry, but never I faced the kind of pressure I had to face in my first year at IIMA. For nine long months I slept less than 5 hours a day - skipped hundreds of meals, fought hard against the best brains in the country, participated in social and cultural activities - and survived first year in flying colours. The kind of prestige and status associated with IIMs can't be obtained from any MBA degree college.
Cheers!

How to crack LR/DI/DS?

To some DI appears to be toughest puzzle of all. I received so many queries on DI that I devout a two phase strategy to discuss it. First phase is on general funda and second on specific funda. Today is first funda - general gyaan.
General Funda

Data interpretation - yes! It's a test of interpretation and not on calculations. Keep it in mind - DI is not a test of data calculation. Some of you tend to avoid this section - my request - DON'T AVOID!

If you can grasp it, it's one of the most scoring sections and you can score a lot of marks here! Now that CAT is one month away, spend a week on data interpretation - what are the questions and why did you avoid them - analyze thoroughly. One week of only DI - I bet you can crack at least half of the questions in CAT06 if you were a perpetual avoider till now!

Read the full article at DI/LR/DS Section: - CATIIMATALES

Inside story of IIM-A

IIMA, like any CAT aspirant, was my dream and it's a dream come true for me to be studying here.
